Bio:

Ahmed Hassan is an electronics engineer with Bachelor of Computer Science from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Menoufiya University, Menouf, Egypt. He has good experience and knowledge in practical electrical & electronic engineering. He holds a diploma in embedded systems and embedded programming. His graduation project with his partner Mohamed Gouda was a prototype of a landmine detection air vehicle. The project has won several awards nationally and internationally such as: Made in Egypt 2012 and I2P Global 2012 ICT 1st Runner-Up in Sweden. Ahmed belongs to many communities and organizations such as IEEE GOLD EGYPT and TIEC innovators in Egypt. Ahmed’s interests are mainly in technology, and he is devoted to it. His passion for innovation and entrepreneurship is limitless.

Bio:

Mohammed Gouda

Mohammed Gouda is a communication engineer with Bachelor of Communications from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Menoufiya University, Menouf, Egypt. He always wanted to stand out and do the up-normal. His graduation project gave him that opportunity. He assembled a team of different interests and ambitions and they all united under one vision; “Remove landmines... Help Egypt”. That vision quickly expanded to the region and finally the whole world. The project also was improved and enhanced with market research, financial planning and business planning. The project has won several awards nationally and internationally such as: Made in Egypt 2012 and I2P Global 2012 ICT 2nds place in Sweden. Mohammed belongs to many communities and organizations such as IEEE EGYPT and TIEC innovators in Egypt. He gave a lot of lectures and workshops about Entrepreneurship, Graduation projects and Presentation skills.

Impact:

The idea started as an innovative solution for the landmine problem worldwide and especially Egypt. The team designed and built an innovative architecture for the common Ground Penetrating RADAR system (GPR) utilizing embedded multicore systems, light and capable of penetrating the ground from a distance above the surface, unlike any available GPR solution. The solution is light enough to be carried on a UAV/ drone, and we call it “Bastet”.

The GPR air vehicle has a variety of applications solving different client needs. We illustrate the details of one target market that has a high demand, especially in Egypt and other African countries. This market is landmine detection.
